4th of July Photos

Here are a few photos from our 4th of July celebration. Rachael enjoyed the sparklers, but was not so sure about the large fireworks show. I think she was just tired by the time the fireworks show started.

Awesome photos! What kind of camera did you use to get those? My wife and I are dying to get a good DSLR with snazzy tripod.

Any of the current DSLR cameras will do a nice job. I personally use Canon gear, and would tend to stay with either Canon or Nikon as they have large systems with lots of available lenses. But the other companies make good gear too.

The key is really to have a good tripod. Not one you buy at the local discount store - plan on spending anywhere from $100 up. Most these shots were anywhere from 2 to 15 seconds, and the camera must be completely steady during that time. A good tripod is a must!

I had no idea that fisher-people knew how to take such great pictures! Shocking.
